SONY DEBUNKS GHOSTBUSTERS 3 ANIMATED RUMOR

Earlier this week horror website Bloody Disgusting set the internet world on fire with reports that Sony was ”looking to do Ghostbusters 3 as an animated film”. I wasn’t even going to mention this, but after personally receiving over three dozen e-mails from fans letting me know about this “news story”, I’m thinking the below update from ComingSoon.net has to be posted:

We talked to the studio, which said that the report is not true. They continue to develop a new live-action version and there is no animated movie in the works.

It’s pretty evident that when a site receives information from a random source regarding Ghostbusters 3, the best reaction would be to avoid it like the plague.

GB3 is still in development? I thought Dan Aykroyd & co. were washing their hands of the project if it wasn’t greenlit…hasn’t the deadline passed?

  Akroyd, to my knowledge, said he gave the studio until April or he would abandon the project… or take it elsewhere… like that has any chance of happening.
