Comics Alliance has posted an exclusive eight page preview of the brand new Mars Attacks/Real Ghostbusters one off. You check it out here.
Be sure to purchase your copy when the comic is released on January 16th.
We’re graced with a second Free Comic Book day in celebration of Halloween! And wouldn’t you know, IDW has taken part, and amongst their offerings is a mini-GB comic titled Times Scare. See what they did there? Yeah, expect that type of humour in this little one-shot.
I can’t say it’s horrible; but it’s not great either. Have I been spoiled by the ongoing GB series? Absolutely. However, keep in mind this comic is to help promote the ongoing series, and on the last panel…boy does it ever.
Did we mention it’s also free? Just head on over to your nearest comic book shop and pick up one up. To find a participating comic shop, just enter you zip/postal code on Halloween Comicfest’s page. Nothing close to you? Can’t make it? No worries, turns out we have the whole comic here.
ComicBookResources.com just uploaded your first look at the Mars Attack Ghostbusters comic cover. The one-shot issue is expected to hit shelves in January along with several other releases featuring the Mars Attack crew invading the worlds of Kiss, Transformers, Popeye, and more.

Here’s what ComicBookResources.com had to say in regards to the Ghostbusters entry:
Fans asking for more twits on the established IDW series will be interested to hear that the third “Mars Attacks” one-shot features “The Real Ghostbusters” – a nod to the Saturday morning cartoon. “Since we’ve used Ghostbusters in these last few ‘Infestation’ stories, we asked ourselves ‘What can we do that’s different?’ We’ve had a lot of people asking for a story set in the world of the animated series and the NOW comic that was done a while back, but we’ve always had our stories roughly set in the movie universe. So now we’re doing ‘The Real Ghostbusters’ so people can get the animated versions with the Martians mixed in as well. Then we jump into the future with Transformers. We thought that one would be fun because we’ve got Shane McCarthy who did the epic ‘All Hail Megatron’ story for us coming back to do a big 32-page battle with Martians.”
The cover also reveals that both Erik Burnham and Jose Holder are behind this project. Burnham has been the creative mind behind the writing of the current IDW Ghostbusters series, while Jose is most well known to Ghostbusters fans as the creative mind behind the below variant from issue #5:

IDW Publishing is currently planning an upcoming crossover series featuring the Mars Attacks license. There will be five crossovers in all featuring franchises that are currently under IDW’s umbrella. The most exciting for us? Ghostbusters… ahem, the Real Ghostbusters!

IDW posted the above image earlier today on their Facebook page.
Information on the comic scarce, but we hope to have more in the coming weeks.

Just a quick reminder that the new one-shot from IDW entitled “What in Samhain Just Happened?” released today. This is the one that the Ghostbusters community is waiting for as all the art in the interior has been done by “Dapper” Dan Schoening!
Oh, and while you’re at it, buy every single copy you can find! Dan’s been unbelievable to us over the past two years and the ghostheads in general, so let’s support him on this. He’s… he’s earned it!
UPDATE:
Paul from Spook Central uploaded a preview and solicitation of the comic which you can find on his Facebook page. This includes a 5-page preview that should help anyone who’s on the fence regarding a purchase.
Be sure to check out Dan’s DeviantArt profile for more of Dan’s art.
Chris Ryal of IDW has just posted a preview of IDW’s upcoming Ghostbusters Halloween comic. The comic is being illustrated by “Dapper” Dan Schoening and is also written by Peter David. It’s a one-shot, but looking at both mens past, we’re thinking this should be one of the better Ghostbusters comics to date.

The comic will be available this October.
