We’re proud to announce the addition of Toronto’s Red Herring to the GhostbustersNews.com crew. Herring is not only a model, burlesque performer, dancer, paranormal enthusiast, but is also willing to get her geek on, as she’ll soon be taking part in an upcoming Ghostbusters themed photo shoot. You’ll also see her pop in from time to time with new articles and her super sassy vlog.
Red Herring is Toronto’s Professional Distraction.
Red Herring can be seen heating up the stage and distracting audiences all over Toronto’s burlesque and vaudeville scene. Not only is she a fiesty nuvo-burlesque performer, with routines centered on pulling audiences in only to shock them with a completely unexpected turn, but she’s a successful producer and booker for sold out shows!
Her first solo-produced show Babes in Space: The Force, The Federation, The Fornication, was a sell-out Star Trek vs Star Wars performance that earned its right to rerun yearly! She has followed this with Ladies in Red, the first burlesque show ever produced at Cherry Cola’s and a rousing success! She’s Cherry Cola’s in-house Saturday dancer, and can be found in her own special window every weekend.
Since her debut she has performed in sold out shows all over Toronto and beyond, earning a place opening the Rising Stars Showcase of the Toronto Burlesque Festival 2010!
She handles the burlesque wing of Lady Luck Productions, an amazing group of cabaret performers, and home of her corporate troop The Get Luckys. She has also taken aboard the task of booking and other-such-things for Toronto’s east-end Circus Entertainment where she pulls in performers and creates events.
Red Herring brings her background in promotion and sales to the fore when in her burlesque heels. She could sell water to a fish, and is a promotional weapon when it comes to events. With a background in all sorts of dance (gogo and pole to classic waltz) , plus regular teaching by the Coco Framboise School of Burlesque, she crashed into the scene with her Dirty Laundering routine in November 2009 to a sold out show at Toronto’s Comedy Bar.
Red keeps a corral of amazing sponsors for events that she’s a part of, and is a go-to hub for bookers who need talent to get the job done!
Long time fans of the site may recall Red’s first appearance from last year, where she cut a quick promo advertising us:
