Pictures released of Hot Wheels 30th Anniversary Ecto-1 with figures

A few weeks ago we posted about an upcoming 30th Anniversary of the 1:18 Hot Wheels Ecto-1. Not too much was known about it other than the fact it was advertised to come with “figures”. Well, we’re happy to say that a few shots of this set has hit the web, giving you a much better idea on what to expect from this $275 set.

The Ecto-1 30th Anniversary Edition is expected to ship in July.

1:64 Ecto-1A announced for Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment series + info on a 1:18 “Anniversary Edition”

It looks as if the Ecto-1A from Ghostbusters II will be joining the Hot Wheel’s Retro Entertainment Series in 2014!

Earlier this week, popular collector site T-Hunted posted the below information/release schedule when it pertains to the popular 1:64 line:

- Batch A: USS Enterprise (Star Trek), 1980 Dodge Macho Power Wagon (Simon & Simon), Flintmobile (Flintstones), VW Beetle (Herbie The Love Bug), 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 (Fast & Furious).
- Batch B: Ferrari Dino 246 GTS (Hart to Hart), Jetsons Capsule (Jetsons), Custom ’77 Dodge Van (Old School), ’67 GTO (Need for Speed), GMC Motorhome (Stripes).
- Batch C: Back To The Future, Need for Speed, Simon & Simon, James Bond.
- Batch D: Karate Kid, Knight Rider, Fast & Furious, James Bond, Tomy Boy.
- Batch E: Zoolander, James Bond, Simpsons, Beverly Hills 90210, Anchorman.
- Batch F: BJ and the Bear, James Bond, Ghostbusters II, Back To The Future, Batman.

No real word yet an on exact release month.

Oh, and before we forget…

Mattel has announced a 1:18 scale Anniversary Edition of the Ecto-1. No real details have been announced on how it’ll differ from the Ecto that was released a few years back, but we’ll keep you updated as more info becomes available.

Limited Edition: no more than 10,000 pieces
The Ecto-1a is the second legendary modified 1959 Cadillac used by the Ghostbusters in the 1989 movie “Ghostbusters II”. This car was an updated version of the Ecto-1 and was equipped with more accessories and technician equipment. On the vehicle’s roof, two electronic billboards were added, one on each side, broadcasting Ghostbusters advertisements! Their logo was also updated on this vehicle. Ready to live an incredible experience thanks to this car collection?!

Hot Wheels release photos of 1:18 scale Ecto-1

Hot Wheels Elite just revealed the finished version of their 1:18 scale Ecto-1, and to say the least, we’re pretty impressed!

The below is from Hot Wheels Elite:

The Ecto-1 is the legendary vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel throughout the city busting ghosts. Thevehicle used for the Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac professional ambulance, built by the Miller-Meteor company and converted by Universal Studios.

As it stands right now, we’re still expecting this to be released in December/January. We’d also like to point out that an Ecto-1A will also be released sometime next year. No pictures as of yet, but you can view the product page here.

Hot Wheels reveals 1/43 Elite Ecto-1

The Hot Wheels Elite website revealed the first pictures of their upcoming 1/43 scale Ecto-1. The Ecto will be limited to just under 10,000 units, with a 1/18 scale model planned for later in the year.

The Ecto-1 is the legendary vehicle that the Ghostbusters used to travel throughout the city busting ghosts. The vehicle used for the Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac professional ambulance, built by the Miller-Meteor company and converted by Universal Studios. “GhostBusters” is the famous 1984 American comedy film about three eccentric New York City parapsychologists-turned-ghost exterminators. Ready to live an incredible experience thanks to this car collection?!
