Production update on long-awaited Ghostbusters II documentary

The highly anticipated and long-awaited follow-up to Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters has resumed production, nearing its final stages of filming, with moviemaker siblings Director Anthony Beuno & and Producer Claire Beuno taking to social media, sharing multiple updates.

In a photo posted on March 1st, Anthony can be seen preparing to board a flight to the United States, with the caption, “Right let’s get TOO HOT TO HANDLE: Remembering Ghostbusters II in the can!” along with subsequent posts providing behind the scenes access to recent shoots taking place in California and Arizona.

A tweet confirmed that the team would be further traveling across the United States over the next three weeks, but at this time, there’s been no confirmation on precisely who’ll be taking part in this last leg of interviews. As usual, we’ll follow along, so stay tuned for future updates.

First announced in 2008, a successful Kickstarter campaign would help fuel the double feature, alongside available producer credits, with Too Hot to Handle: Remembering Ghostbusters II set to provide a rare look at the highly underrated 1989 sequel, featuring never-before-seen interviews with cast and crew, including Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Ivan Reitman, and more.

Since its release in 2019, Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters has gone on to achieve critical acclaim, currently holding an audience and critics score of 100% through Rotten Tomatoes, including earning a favorable review from Chicago Sun-Times’ Richard Roeper, who said that it contained “fascinating and insightful nuggets,” calling it a, “a comprehensive and thorough if overlong deep dive.”
