Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is about to go EXTREME, with developer Illfonic providing fans with their first look at the next free quarterly DLC drop, seemingly headlined by Extreme Ghostbusters
In an image posted to Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed‘s social media pages, a PKE Meter based on the design seen in the late 90s animated series is shown, paired with the not-so-subtle caption, “Are you ready to get Extreme?”
During our recent interview with Illfonic, Chief Creative Officer Jared Gerritzen and Design Director Jordan Mathewson stated that all upcoming DLC is expected to follow a similar framework to what was included in the first quarterly update. Given that, it’s likely that the forthcoming update will give fans access to a new level, Ghost type, and as evident in the featured photo, gear shells. We’d also suspect more customization options, hopefully allowing players to make adaptations of Kylie, Roland, Eduardo, and Garrett with the game’s character customizer.
There’s been no word on release, but the last free update arrived at the end of January, and with these being quarterly, a more formal reveal followed by the already anticipated in-game launch can’t be too far behind.
As the norm, we’ve reached out to Illfonic regarding the upcoming free DLC, so keep checking back to Ghostbusters News and subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay in the know and not miss out on future updates!
