Paul Rudd and Carrie Coon tease upcoming Ghostbusters sequel while wearing classic uniforms

As part of Sony’s presentation during this year’s CinemaCon, attendees were treated to a special teaser from the set of the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel hosted by producer Jason Reitman.

While no actual footage of the film was shown, it was made clear that despite being filmed in the United Kingdom, the movie will very much be set in New York City, with the characters introduced in Ghostbusters: Afterlife said to now be a “proper family.”

Speaking of that family, stars McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon also took part in the digital presentation, being seen wearing Ghostbusters uniform, seemingly confirming that not only will Rudd suit up in the sequel, but so will Coon!

While many fans expected tonight’s presentation to give the film an actual title instead of the working name of Ghostbusters: Firehouse, nothing was announced. Also, despite production beginning just last month, the film is still slated to arrive in theaters on December 20th, 2023.

In other news, an article from The Hollywood Reporter covering tonight’s presentation notes that Afterlife stars Logan Kim and Celeste O’Connor will be back for the sequel, joining franchise newcomers Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind.
