Ghostbusters Day is less than three weeks away, and while we’re sure Columbia Pictures Ghost Corps will undoubtedly surprise fans with further news surrounding the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel, the fan community is also aiming to make this year’s event, celebrating the 39th anniversary of the franchise, one to remember!
Announced by Ghostbusters Italia, beginning June 5th and running until the 11th, Ghost Week International will be a can’t miss digital event hosted on all major social media platforms, with fan franchises encouraged to take part, being asked to submit photos or videos, sharing their love of Ghostbusters.
While exact details are scarce, Ghostbusters Italia plans to share further information as we near the week-long event, so stay tuned!
For those who’d like to participate in Ghost Week International, photos, and videos can be submitted to international@gbitalia.it, with the overall theme being a celebration of the Ghostbusters franchise and the fan community.
In addition to Ghostbusters Italia‘s celebration, the annual Ghostbusters Day fundraiser held at New York City’s Hook & Ladder 8 and hosted by The Buffalo Ghostbusters will take place on June 10th. A GoFundMe campaign is live, with this year’s efforts aiming to commemorate an FDNY transport van in honor of Lt. Vincent Halloran, who perished in the 9/11 attacks. Taking place outside of the famed Tribeca firehouse, the fan gathering will include a live performance by the Alessi Brothers, guest appearances by Eldo Ray Estes and Joe Cirillo, replica vehicles including the Ecto-1 NJ and Ecto-NYC, a Ghostbusters walking tour, exclusive collectibles, and even a wedding!
Oh, and don’t forget that on June 8th, the actual date of Ghostbusters Day, there will also be a 7-hour fan film marathon hosted by members of The Real Ohio Ghostbusters and streaming worldwide. For additional information on that, grab our full report.
